Helena Brett Wins Betfred Ladies’ Poker Tour

MANCHESTER, England-The undisputable queen of British women’s poker is Helena Brett; she won the Grand Final of the Betfred Ladies’ Poker Tour.

Brett who is thirty one hails from Staffordshire and heads the commercial activity for a charity organization, she beat Raine Hilson at London’s Western Club having competed in poker for just over a year.

Brett just one of ten poker enthusiasts to participate in the Grand Final qualified in July having won the Northampton leg of the tour.  She is a true champion having come up against some very seasoned poker players to walk away with one of women’s poker most rewarding prizes.

Harra’s will trade from now on under the name of Caesars Entertainment Corp. The aim of th new company is to significantly enhance its presence and increase its revenue stream within the casino industry whilst the globe is still gripped by economical uncertainty.

Sportingbet Excellent Revenues

So far 2010 has been a reasonably lucrative year for Sportingbet; the company targeted different overseas markets by means of expanding their mobile-gaming products resulting in a revenue increase of 19% for the last quarter.

Operating profit for the bookie has gone up from £6.3m in the first quarter of 2009 to £7.5m and ended October 31st, its overall profits before interest, tax, reduction and paying off existing debts increased by 16.5% from £9.7m to £11.3m.

State Of New Jersey To Legalize Online Gambling

Good news for online gamblers across the United States. A bill that permits gambling online in New Jersey has been approved by the Senate of New Jersey.  Gamblers from other states will not be permitted to wager at internet casinos situated within the New Jersey state, however this is a positive step and hopefully other U.S states would follow suit.

Canadian Woman Fakes Cancer To Gamble

A new type of gambling fraud is occurring more frequently in Canada nowadays and it has officials up in arms, it entails members of the public faking cancer to get charity cash.

U.S Recession Impacts Gambling Industry

Chief executive of The American Gaming Association in the U.S, Frank Fahrenkopf, said that land-based casinos throughout the U.S’ gambling revenue have improved by a meagre 1.3 percent in the third quarter to $8 billion.  It’s more or less a $100 million more for the same period than the previous year.

“Most economists have underestimated the impact the current recession still has on the American economy and this year’s economic growth is slightly better than last year,” Fahrenkopf said. “Your average American consumer is spending less; this is also clearly reflected in the internet casino industry as well.”  Revenues in general have been very low throughout the year so far and we sincerely hope that 2011 will be better.
