Romania Internet Gambling Draft Unsuccessful

European nations are attempting to regulate internet gambling in the hope of enticing more tax revenues as opposed to any incentives from the European Commission (EC). Countries situated within the EU are still grappling to implement proper legislation that would safeguard their interests pertaining to the internet casino industry. It’s imperative that new casino legislation proposed by countries be approved by the EU first in contrast to others which botched the test.

The lasts victim’s draft law Romania has been vetted by the EC and disappointingly not accepted.  In its initial statement the EC has delineated certain statements within the original proposal and notified the Romanian casino vendor that it’s proposal was in contravention with EU (European Law) law. Topping the list are the requests from other applicants, which are already in possession of licenses from other EU jurisdictions that will be formed in Romania as well as their servers …

European Gaming Harmony or Discord?

Regardless of the September European Court of Justice (ECJ) findings in Germany and Austria favour online casino operators. It still doesn’t give most European operators the peace of mind they so desperately need.

Articles 56 and 49 stipulates the Freedom to trade and the freedom of establishment rights of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union applicable to gambling, in contrast to this it’s lost its momentum and there is a lot of ill-favoured political undercurrents on the go.

The UK who’s been hailed as a staunch advocate for the free gambling market has indicated the chances are slim that it would introduce a local licensing system that will enable foreign operators to enter the UK market. However, there is still light at the end of the tunnel referring to the German and Austrian cases and the EJC’s assessment that there could not be an inconsistent approach which …

Sin City Gripped By U.S Rececession

Cities across the US are slowly recuperating from the recession that still grips the US. Regretably it’s not the case in America’s gambling capital and economists describe it as the worst economic stranglehold in Nevada since the start of casinos in the 1940’s.

Although Las Vegas’ city officials are optimistic that gambling revenues will increase again as the nation’s economy recovers, most economists don’t share the same view. Market experts reckon if the city is to “weather the storm” it will have to dig deep and come up with really groundbreaking innovative solutions especially within the construction industry, since it constitutes the backbone of the city and the state as a whole.

In order to move forward certain key issues have to be addressed first such as the current unemployment rate in the state. As it is the unemployment figure in Nevada stands at 14.4 percent and is the highest …

Obama Administration Fails Online Gambling

Although not confirmed as yet, there have been some concerns voiced on internet gambling forums about the possible implementation of a sterner control measure pertaining to electronic payments and transfers.

Current banking and financial organisations are compelled to notify the United States Federal government should any international electronic transfer exceed the amount of $10,000.   The Obama administration is going one step further and has implemented a policy that will clamp down on all foreign electronic funds transfers, from and to the United States.

Citizens in the US are outraged about this new policy and feel it’s an invasion of privacy, the government’s justification of this new policy is to stop terrorist from financing possible attacks on US soil and money laundering.  This is one of the main reasons why the Bush government enforced the UIGEA in 2006 attached to the Safe Port Bill.

The question everybody is asking now, how will this …
