Costa Rica Calls For Stricter Rules

When it comes to internet gambling in Costa Rica, the first thing that comes to mind is unlicensed operators policed by a corrupt government. Many operators, operating in the country are trying to improve their images by getting rid of the “bad online” tag.

Laura Chinchilla who heads the Costa Rican government has decided enough is enough and imposed stricter legislation to regulate the faltering internet gambling industry since it has become lax. Hopefully this will improve Costa Rica as a gambling jurisdiction and tarnished online gambling reputation. The question one has to ask will this help, since the online gambling industry has stagnated so much.

Past regulations imposed by the government have not been policed properly by it and as a result this has become a breeding ground for many rogue internet casinos, which have chosen Costa Rica as their internet gambling jurisdiction. In addition this could be ascribed to …

The standard has been set by the United Kingdom when it comes to its online gambling industry. Research group Nielson has indicated that during the last couple of years online gambling has proved to be far more popular than social network sites such as Facebook in the UK.

According to Nielsen it indicated that 3.2 million people chose internet gambling the previous year. The popularity of online gambling rose by a staggering 40% during the last year, in addition to the somewhat 2.2 million people who accessed social media sites.

The figures don’t come as a surprise to those who find themselves in the online gambling industry. The United Kingdom is busy cementing its position as one of the leaders in the global online casino industry. The good news is that other countries in Europe are following the UK’s example and the online gambling industry has seen a huge increase …

New Legislation Could Impact British Online Casinos

Internet gambling has been active in the UK  for several years now, it has been decided by the British Gaming Commission to amend its laws pertaining to its gambling legislation in order to make internet gambling more feasible to the general public.

The UK Gaming commission outlines in a document which games casinos can legally offer and this mechanism has been in operation since 2007. Casino games on the official list are only permitted to license holders, however this has caused a couple of concerns of late for various casino operators; since new casino games are introduced on a regular basis and new licenses needs to be taken out for that specific game.

Changes that have been effected of late in internet gambling legislation, in turn has increased the Remote Gaming Tax that is deducted from all U.K. internet gambling operations.  As a result of this new legislation it could …

Superstitious Chinese Player Wins Jackpot

As the old saying goes; there is always a first time for everything in life.  A Chinese player recently won the progressive jackpot at an internet casino called Jackpot City (The Belle Group Brand) and refused to accept his winnings; this could be regarded as the first time ever a player refuses a progressive jackpot payout.   The person is off Chinese origin and could only be identified as Mr.C who won the amount of £4,444.

By nature the Chinese are extremely superstitious people, especially when it comes to numerology.  The number 4 in Chinese culture indicates death and therefore making it a highly unlikely number in a Jackpot and is also associated with bad luck and death.  To top it all Mr.C nailed four 4s in his progressive jackpot winnings, in turn he has contacted the Casino’s customer support staff at internet casino Jackpot City and notified them he won’t …

Can Players Trust Online Casinos?

Can one really trust online casinos today, are they saying who they really are and can you trust them with your money?  This has been a sticky question with me for a long time now.   Especially now with the United States out the loop where online gambling is still largely prohibited due to Gambling Legislation.  Most players and affiliates alike will jump for joy once online gambling is legalised in the US again.

As an active casino affiliate who’s been marketing online casinos for a couple of years now, many players have asked me the same old question over and over again, what are the criteria that really determines a reputable online casino?  Will I get my money in the event of hitting the progressive jackpot? To be honest I don’t know and there are no guarantees.

Most affiliates will tell their players to see if the following criteria are posted on …

Gambling Parents Forget Children In Car

This topic has gained extensive momentum the last couple of weeks.  The question everybody is asking whether or not car manufacturers should install forgotten child car alarms, since a number of parents who gambled at land-based casinos forgot their children in their vehicles, which resulted in unnecessary child mortalities.  Most parents agree that added safety technology to their vehicles is a bonus; however, Pennsylvania lawmakers want to take matters into their own hands.  They want to introduce a bill that charges parents with neglect, those who leave their children in unsupervised vehicles with a third-degree felony.

Sen. Robert Tomlinson, R-Bucks County, and Rep. Gene DiGirolamo, R-Bensalem, are sponsoring the legislation and it will be presented to their respective chambers according to the Daily American, adults caught abandoning children in a car currently face misdemeanour charges; should the new law take effect a third-degree felony conviction can result in 3 1/2 to 7 years in …

Why Gamble With Children’s Lives?

People are prepared to engage in yet more traffic, gambling addiction and even crime…

Many officials from Bucks County who planned for the 2006 Parx Casino in Bensalem never expected that adults would actually leave their children in the cars and even forget about them.

According to police these incidents happened various times since mid-June outside the sprawling Parx complex, on Street Road.  The latest report appeared Thursday, just hours after state lawmakers mentioned plans for a bill that makes it a felony to leave children under the age of 13 years unsupervised in a vehicle. “Of all the problems we thought about that were going to happen, this is one thing that was probably the most unexpected,” State Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R., Bucks) said at a noon news conference Thursday in Bensalem.

Added State Sen. Robert M. Tomlinson (R., Bucks): “We were all shocked when we first heard of these …
