Unibet Changes to Virtue Fusion Bingo Network

Unibet’s Maria bingo and additional casinos will change from its own network to Virtue Fusion’s bingo network of which Playtech is the owner. Mor Weizer the software provider’s new CEO said, “This deal could be regarded as one of the most significant B2B bingo deals which took place in recent years”. Playtech is set to endow Unibet with its multi-currency, multi-language platform via its ancillary Virtue Fusion, which would be utilised by Unibet to develop its pan-European bingo commerce.

Since 2006 Unibet has made use of GTS’ license, Playtech’s casino games platform supplier. Playtech feels that this new venture will bolster their current business affiliation, integrate and offer improved cross-selling between these two products”.

“Playtech’s bingo product is cemented by this new business venture and its ability to be competitive and excel within the European market has just received an extra boost. We are very excited with our new venture with Unibet and thrilled by the cross-selling possibilities that today’s declaration will make possible,” Weizer said.

Chief executive of Unibet, Henrik Tjärnström, said: “Unibet bingo just made one step in the right direction and we look forward to our new improved business venture with Playtech. We now have a very capable bingo client thanks to Virtue Fusion – the brainchild of Unibet’s own in-house UX team. The latter will enable Unibet to not only be more competitive but also to gain access to a significant chunk of an already very competitive European market.”

In March Bingo.com amalgamated with Unibet’s bingo PoweredbyUnibet.com, this business deal ensured a database of approximately two million registered players.  Internet bingo sites that will constitute part of this stable are: Betty and Carat bingo and the Maria bingo brand Unibet purchased in 2007, the leading internet bingo vendor in the Nordic market.

Unibet bought a 25.9% stake in Bingo.com valued at US$2.25m, its total net worth is just below $10m; unfortunately the bingo site indicated a net loss of US$27,977 in the three months up and till June 30th this year.  Overall profits declined by 76% to US$369,000, from US$1.5m since many players migrated to Unibet’s new gaming platform, this could be seen as one of the main reasons for the overall decline in gaming activity.
