Full Tilt Poker Sued By Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey esteemed member of Full Tilt Poker has filed an “an electronic lawsuit” against the poker giant, Ivey claims he has not been paid by FTP and is the first professional player to break the silence subsequent the Black Friday indictments.

Early this morning Ivy made a statement on his official website and Facebook outlining the reasons for taking legal action against FTP, he said “It’s unacceptable that FTP has not refunded its players and I’m disappointed that people who have supported me during my career have been treated so badly.”

The 35-year-old poker veteran is also one of the game’s top earners with earnings of close to US$14m (£8.6m), Ivy also said that he would boycott this year’s World Series of Poker (WSOP) event, which already started in Las Vegas yesterday.

Since Black Friday Ivey is the first high-profile member of Team Full Tilt to take a stand on behalf of players who have not been refunded by Full Tilt Poker, however, Tom Dwan also tweeted on Twitter following aftermath of April 15^th indictments said that he hoped that players would get their money back.

On the Two Plus Two poker forums Full Tilt Poker issued an official statement recently stating the main reason for their silence was because they have been “tied down by the pending legal actions.”

Ivey said: “As a result of Full Tilt Poker’s recent indictment by the U.S government my name and character has been tarnished, as well as the inactivity and indecision of others; on behalf of all poker players I will no longer remain silent on this matter.”

Last week Cassaon-casino reported that one of the Full Tilt’s bank accounts had been unfrozen by the United States Department of Justice (DoJ).

Although Ivey did not attend the first open WSOP event, the US$25,000 buy-in heads-up championship, six other members of Team Full Tilt were there. They are Dwan, Erick Lindgren, John Juanda, Erik Seidel, Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen. Dwan and Seidel refused to wear Full Tilt patches or hats. Many sponsored players were present as well, wearing Full Tilt patches.

James Bord English poker pro verbally abused Juanda by calling him a “disgrace” and a “fake” as well as a disgusting human being. As a result of Bord’s verbal tongue lashing, Juanda had to leave the Rio Casino’s premises under security escort.
